Evening Mr J! Great to see TNA arriving on the Counterfactual scene - giving the chance for some of the better none-WWE'rs out there the chance to make it into the only top-50 list that counts.

...and now for something completely different.

The WWE draft last week was completely underwhelming. Benoit moving to Tuesday nights was a horrific example of man-management - the only positive I can see is that it further clears the way for Hardy to get a shot at the WWE title. Hardy vs Edge Counterfactual Wrestlemania AND r/l Wrestlemania? Well, I can dream can't I? Hardy's recent push, working RAW AND Smackdown - and winning - seems to suggest it.. however I don't know whether the WWE would trust Hardy on the mic as much as they trust Edge.

    But I digress. The draft:

If you could draft ANY five superstars from ANY promotion to the WWE to improve the current roster.. workrate wise AND entertainment wise - who would you pick?

    Here's my picks:

1: American Dragon Bryan Danielson. One of the best around and young with it. Could see him working with Benoit & Regal in some mighty matches.

2: Samoa Joe. Solid worker, great on the mic = demographics, baby.

3: Abyss. Long term monster replacement for the Deadman. Gotta have a beast there to scare the kiddies.

4: Christian. Should've never let him go in the first place.

5: A surprise here - Ted Dibiase Jnr. Kid looks good in NOAH, a lot of promise, and fits in nicely with the WWE's legend-heavy roster. Him and Orton could make a great team.. or bitter rivals.

  2. I'm bad at factoring in "entertainment" - what I find entertaining is wrestling, an in-ring focus of the ROH/NOAH variety; and were I in some type of creative position, I'd advocate strictly from that point of view.

I'm fundamentally a parliamentarian, I guess. I'd like multiple voices in a creative situation.

    Or just mine. Either way.

    Five.

    1. Kenta
-Kenta's...I think...I think Kenta's the best wrestler in the world. And the best wrestler in the world has to be the guy I pick first.

    2. Danielson
-Danielson would make them money. He can do the "WWF style" and although he's not a bodybuilder, I think his run in ROH showed he can really work the mic and establish heel credibility.

    3. Joe
-Same idea as Danielson. Can work, can talk, people dig him. He'd draw money.

    4. Low Ki
-I'm a pretty big Low Ki mark; his 2005 was about as good a year as you want a guy to have. For some reason, when Vince sees the success of MMA he wants to change the perception of referees - what he needs is guys who seem like they can fight. If they gave me Low Ki and Danielson, they'd be headlining Counterfactual Mania.

    5. AJ Styles
-There are lots of guys I'd like to see here - Alex Shelley, Super Dragon, Marufuji, Morishima, Daniels, Quackenbush, Jack Evans, CIMA - I could just keep going (and if Kobashi wasn't gone, he'd be my first pick, and even now, I'd snap up Kawada)

But I'll go AJ. I like the spots and think he'd get over.

Honestly, outside of maybe ten guys, I'd replace the entire WWF roster.

  3. I've already changed my mind.

Gotta be Marufuji in that fifth spot. If I had Danielson/Low Ki and Kenta/Marufuji as upper card singles, that's a PPV I would buy.
